YEAR FOUR
I think Year Four are being bad
In fact, I think they’ve gone quite mad.
They’ve turned the classroom upside down
Dressed their teacher, like a clown.
Up ended all the desks and chairs
Crawling on the floor like bears
Making very bearlike noises
Growling at the top of their voices.
Now they’re standing up like trees
Swaying in a crazy breeze.
Then underneath the desks they’re crawling
Making sounds like babies bawling.
It all includes their teacher too,
He’s joining in this hullabaloo.
I think they may have hypnotised him
Used a spell to mesmerise him.
Right Year Four, I’m coming in –
Please explain this dreadful din,
Please provide an explanation
For this mad and frightful abomination.
Sorry headmaster – the explanation –
Year Four are using their imagination!

MY POSITIVE PANTS
If I’m feeling a little bit negative,
Unhappy, nervous or shy,
I put on a pair of positive pants
And stare the world in the eye.
_____
In my positive pants I’m a warrior,
A leader, a queen, a king.
When I put on a pair of positive pants,
My heart begins to sing!
_____
It doesn’t matter what colour,
It doesn’t matter what style,
Positive pants are for anyone
So, go on, give them a try.

OUR ROUND TABLE
Our table has no corners
There’s no one at the end,
No-one in the middle
And no-one round the bend.
Everyone is equal
And everyone can see,
All the other members
Of our round family.
No-one is the head of it
And no-one gets left out.
We see and hear each other
So, no-one has to shout!

______
LET’S GET A MOVE ON
Let’s bounce along on sunshine,
Let’s shuffle through the leaves.
Let’s wallow in a snowfall
Let’s flutter with a breeze.
_____
Let’s jitter in a gusty gale,
Let’s slosh along in puddles.
Let’s barrage through a grassy field,
Let’s soar with magic bubbles.
_____
Let’s tiptoe through a forest,
Let’s clamber with the flowers.
Let’s flitter in the moonlight,
Let’s leap amongst the stars.
_________
RAIN!
I can soothe you I can lash you
I can make you wear a hat.
I can get under your collar
I can hit you with a splat!
I can make your feet all soggy
I can bash your garden flat.
I can stop you playing games outside.
Yes me, I do all that!
________
WHO LIKES ART?
Why did Dali paint a lady
with a Bat, upon her head?
And on the face of Mona Lisa,
he drew himself instead!
_____
A lobster on a telephone?
A bunch of melting clocks?
And, what made Picasso
paint a face in cubist blocks?
_____
Turner painted landscapes
of the swirly whirly kind.
Monet painted lilies
under bridges, you will find.
_____
Edvard Munch, he had a fright,
we see that in: ‘The Scream!’
Magritte liked to paint as though
he lived inside a dream.
_____
Lowry captured people
in a very stick-like way
painting them in many scenes
we still find to this day.
_____
Wouldn’t it be boring
if we only liked the same?
I like the one with Sunflowers,
But I forget his name!
