SEPTEMBER – The season is changing – summer is over and it’s back to school time! New start, new class, new beginning. And what better way to start than with a poem with the title SEPTEMBER!
SEPTEMBER
Summer is over,
clouds sweep the sky.
Swallows are leaving.
We whisper, goodbye.
__
It’s the time of the season
for harvesting hay.
Gathering apples.
Less light in the day.
__
But the biggest event,
as a general rule,
is the sound of the children
returning to school.
__
Meet at the school gates,
with new bags, new shoes.
Lots to catch up on,
much chatter and news.
__
New classroom, new teacher,
in different spaces,
but facing it all with
same friends, same faces.
__
For some it’s the first time
ever at school.
Let’s welcome them all,
BE KIND, it’s the rule!

LET’S MAKE A NOISE
Let’s whisper like a secret
Let’s cackle like a magpie
Let’s gabble like a gossip
Let’s waffle like a bore
Let’s rabbit like a monkey
Let’s babble like a brook
Let’s splutter like a dying flame
Let’s rumble like a roar

FEELINGS
Happiness went for a walk today.
Bumped into Grumble and rolled it away.
Called out to Anger – have a nice day!
Put its arms around Anxious – it will be okay.
Reached out to Sadness and lifted the grey.
Straightened the words of Confusion’s dismay.
Took Disappointment off to play.
Gathered up Doubt in a sunny display.
Teamed up with Love , and paved the way.
