Remember, remember, the Fifth of November!
BONFIRE NIGHT
Bonfire night has come around,
Listen to that whooshing sound.
**
Rockets soaring in the sky,
Catherine Wheels that spin and fly.
**
Bangers bang and Fountains pour;
Roman Candles fizz galore.
**
Toast marshmallows on the fire.
Watch the flames shoot higher and higher!
**
Hold a sparkler in your hand,
Write your name across the land.
**
The heavens dance with firework light
Colouring the sky tonight.

AUTUMN FUN
The
blown
trees creak,
the wind shrieks,
snatching the leaves
to the ground, for some
rustling, crackling, stamping

REMINDER FROM A HEDGEHOG
Every year in November,
humans seem to know
that hibernating hedgehogs,
need a place to go.
They build a super hiding place
for hedgehogs just like me.
Full of branches, twigs and leaves.
A cosy place to be.
It seems we’ve found the perfect place
to keep us snug and dry.
To keep out larger predators
when they go passing by.
But later on, you humans
forget that we are there.
You set light to our hiding place.
It really isn’t fair!
So, when you build your bonfire,
please can you remember,
to check for sleeping hedgehogs
on the Fifth of November
THANK YOU!

WHY LEAVES CHANGE COLOUR
The colour green,
Hides hues unseen.
But as the summer fades away
And cooler days are here to stay,
With weaker sunlight on the trees
Green chlorophyll breaks down in leaves.
Then yellow pigment and orange too
Turns them into to their autumn hue.
