Happy Springtime! The daffodils are nodding their yellow trumpet heads everywhere I look and the garden is blooming with colour. Violets, daisies, crocus, primrose. This Sunday its MOTHERS DAY in the UK. I’ve written a poem called MY MUM IN ANIMALS. Please use it as a prompt and see if you can write a poem about your mum in animals, or maybe flowers, or any theme that springs to mind. Have fun with your mum and your poem.

MY MUM IN ANIMALS

My mum’s a squidgy-squeezy

Bear-hug kind of mum.

****

My mum’s a ‘WHAT HAVE YOU DONE NOW?’

Lion-roaring kind of mum!

****

My mum’s a ‘don’t worry it will be okay,’

Gentle bunny kind of mum.

****

My mum’s an ‘of course I remembered,’

Elephants never forget kind of mum.

****

My mum’s a listening, comforting

Doggy-cuddle sort of mum.

****

My mum’s a win the race on sports day

Horse-galloping kind of mum.

****

My mum’s a laugh out loud at my jokes

Hyena sort of mum.

***

My mum is a bit of everything –

But best of all she’s just MY mum!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY ❤️
