CHRISTMAS IS COMING! Time to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Here are some more poems to celebrate!
CHRISTMAS IS COMING!
My thoughts are all a tingle
My feet just won’t keep still,
I can hear a jingle-jangling in the sky.
****
The sound’s a mixed up mingle
Of Santa and his reindeers,
And sleigh bells jingle-jangling, as they fly.

SILLY SANTA THOUGHTS!
How does Santa laugh?
HO, HO, HO.
Where does Santa live?
In the
SNOW, SNOW, SNOW
What colour is his hair and beard?
WHITE, WHITE, WHITE
And he visits in the middle of the
NIGHT, NIGHT, NIGHT.

BABABABOONS
The Baba-baboons sing terrible tunes
and they live in a hole by the telly.
***
They only come out at Christmas,
which is good ‘cos they’re ever so smelly.
***
They sing to the moon with their terrible tunes
and drive us all mad with the sound.
***
But their favourite food is Brussels sprouts
so, we’re really quite glad they’re around.
***
When Christmas day was over and done,
they waved and said ‘Baba-goodbye’,
**
I felt kind of sad, and I felt kind of glad,
Then they said, ‘we’ll be back in July!’

WHY CHRISTMAS PUDDINGS CAN BE DANGEROUS
Mum made a Christmas pudding
I said it looks quite stodgy.
Mum told me then that in her day,
Eating it was dodgy!
***
She said, when she was younger
Every Christmas Day
A Christmas pudding treasure hunt
Was always underway.
***
Because the pudding her mum made
Had more in it than honey.
Stirred in with the mixture
Was a little bit of money!
***
A couple of silver sixpences
Washed, and with a shine.
Were put in there for luck she said,
for her and her brother to find.
***
Mum gobbled down her portion
To beat her brother Ted,
But, apparently, she ate too fast
And swallowed them instead!
***
She ended up in hospital
An X-ray showed the money
Was on its way to being expelled
Eased by the runny honey!
***
There, I said, I told you why
That pudding’s not my thing.
It’s dangerous to eat it,
Cos it’s full of shiny bling!
