Poem Two – 2nd December
CHRISTMAS ELF
Every year at Christmas,
my cheeky Christmas Elf,
all dressed in red and stripey green
is put upon a shelf.
***
The antics he gets up to
drive us all quite mad.
turning items upside down.
That Elf is really bad.
***
But every year at Christmas
when my Elf is packed away.
I really, really miss him,
every single day

POEM THREE – 3rd December
THE SCHOOL PLAY
My part wasn’t quite what I hoped for,
in this year’s school Christmas play.
I was hoping I might play Joseph,
but they gave that part to Ray.
***
I would settle for being a Wise Man,
but the triplets were given that role.
A shepherd? The Angel Gabriel?
But they went to Ben, Gem and Sole.
***
I could hardly play Mary or Jesus.
The Innkeeper went to Lou.
The only role left was the donkey,
and they said, that’s the part for you!
